Sunday morning in a peaceful area of Cyprus!

Oh my Lord!

Miss Jane, I had no idea that when you were buying that villa with a view of being a neighbour close by, that I would end up walking with a sandwich board attached to me saying” “Warning, Jane is bad for Mary’s health! “

What am I talking about? Woman, you almost gave me a heart attack! I reached out to draw my blinds at my kitchen sink, and I ended up standing there mesmerized in my knickers and bra….

There you were on your balcony ledge, and as if that wasn’t bad enough, you were about to climb up on a rather wobbly ladder towards your roof!! I held my breath! I was rooted to the spot, while all the while my brain was telling me that I need to be in close reach of my phone in case I had to call 911 (or whatever the Cypriot equivalent is for emergency service), and fully prepared to dash across the road …..

I thought to myself “the woman is mad! She has gone dolally! She’s lost a screw! I could not move….. I couldn’t see or hear Michael…. I couldn’t see or hear the dogs!

Then after you had finished rubbin’ and a scrubbin’ and was halfway down the wobbly ladder I realized you were talking to someone, then I realized that Michael must have been somewhere there but I couldn’t see his head above the wall….. unless of course you had gone one step further to madness and was muttering to yourself?

Then you stepped on the ledge and stood there, and all the time I could hear myself saying in my head “please, please, just get off that ledge so that I can breathe again….. Oh girl, you almost gave an old woman a heart attack…. you sure got the blood pumping through my veins this morning.

Satellite dishes and solar panels cleaned. Now it is time to prepare sunday lunch... It’s a woman’s world…. -
