Pissouri Beach, Limassol - Cyprus

Description:

Pissouri Beach is located 5 kilometres south of the village of Pissouri in the Limassol district of Cyprus.
 

The beach has both golden sand and small pebbles and is sheltered by the white cliffs of Cape Aspro on both sides. Because of its location, the crystal blue waters are calm and peaceful.
 

Stretching 1500 metres in length and about 90 metres wide, Pissouri Beach has all the facilities and cleanliness expected with its Blue Flag status including a lifeguard during the summer months.
 

Sunbeds and umbrellas can be hired during the day and there are changing rooms, toilets and showers on the beach.

  
Because of the calm waters, water sports are ideal with jet skis, windsurfing and water skiing all being popular in the area.

 
Pissouri Beach has many tavernas, restaurants and snack bars serving a variety of food. There are also a couple of hotels located there.

 
Whether soaking up the sun and being close to the traditional tavernas and bars, or exploring the secluded cliffs and rocky areas, Pissouri Beach meets most needs.

 
The beach is also a popular nesting area for green and loggerhead turtles which come ashore to lay their eggs between June and August. A local ‘Turtle Watch' group patrol the beach early morning to check for nests and provide protection until the eggs hatch.
