Paphos Airport - Cyprus

Description:

Paphos airport was completely renovated and was a logistical and technical success when the new passenger terminal was opened in November 2008 by Hermes.
 

The overall design of the airport is now themed on Greek culture and Aphrodite, the mythical goddess of love and beauty, is represented in many aspects of the airport.
 
Striking mosaics and sculptures can be seen throughout the airport giving visitors a real feeling of being in ancient Cyprus.
 

It now has buildings covering approximately 20,000 square metres and can handle almost 3 million passengers to Cyprus a year.

 
Improvements have been made inside the airport where it has 24 check-in desks, 3 baggage carousels and 6 security screening areas. Parking is also provided for around 800 vehicles.
 

The construction of a new four lane highway linking Paphos to the airport is underway and will ease congestion in the tourist season in Paphos.
