A Guide 2 Skiing at Troodos in Cyprus

It seems strange that as well as being able to bask up the sun in the coastal areas of Cyprus during the winter, there is also the added attraction of visiting the Troodos Mountains to experience what can sometimes feel like being in the European Alps when the snow has fallen.
 

The ski season in Troodos on Mount Olympus usually starts from the beginning of January until the end of March.

 
It is advisable to check conditions before travelling up to Mount Olympus as during heavy snowfalls, it may be necessary to use snow chains or 4 wheel drive vehicles.

 
There is a cafeteria at Sun Valley where refreshments can be purchased. They even sell gluvine (hot red wine) which can be very warming after a hard day on the slopes.
