Description:

Located about 2.5 kilometres west of ancient Kourion on the outskirts of Limassol, stands the Sanctuary of Apollo Hylates.

It is one of the principal religious places in Cyprus where Apollo was worshipped as Hylates, God of the woodland and protector of the kingdom of Kourion.

The Sanctuary of Apollo Hylates was built in the 8th Century B.C. where it had a lot of Roman architectural influence in its 12,000 years of use.
