Description:
The Deryneia Folk Art Museum is located in an old traditional house at 2 Demetris Lipertis Street in Deryneia and attempts to show how life used to be lived in Cyprus in past times. With the cooperation of the Cyprus Handicraft Service, the Folk Art Museum has been arranged in a way that shows how a traditional Cypriot house would look like. Interesting household items are displayed in each room.
The Museum also exhibits farming tools that were used by a traditional farming family in the area. The items have been donated from the villagers of Deryneia and the surrounding areas.
Mrs Margarita and Mr Varnavas Hadjiliassi donated the Folk Art and Craft Museum to the Community in memory of their three children that died at an early age. Deryneia Municipality renovated the house and declared it a listed building.
