Description:
The Oleastro Olive Park is located approximately half way between Limassol and Paphos, 3 kilometres from the traditional village of Anogyra.
'Oleastro' means the wild olive tree, which can still be found in Cyprus.
A visit to the Oleastro Olive Park is a fun packed family day out giving a great insight into the history and production of the olive.
The Olive Park shows, through interactive displays, the olive cultivation over 60,000 years.
The Olive Oil Museum shows the cultivation process which involves old traditions like feet pressing the olives as done with grapes to state of the art ecological pressing methods. The exhibition also shows the role of the olive in Cyprus through the years.
Children can use the playground, artists' corner and also take a pony ride.
Refreshments can be found at the organic café/restaurant which serves traditional home made meals.
To remember your time at the Olive Park, souvenirs can be purchased at the gift shop, including the olive oil produced at the Park. There are also cosmetics, body and hair products on sale that have been derived from olive oil.
Sit back and relax whilst watching the film on the story of olive oil at the visitors centre.
The whole olive oil extraction process can be seen at the state of the art ecological olive mill during mid October and February.
