Description:
The museum was founded in 1948 and was originally located in Limassol Castle, but was temporarily transferred to the National Guard until the new exhibition was arranged at the new building at Vryonos/Siokri Street near to the Public Gardens in Limassol.
The museum holds a collection of antiquities dating from the Neolithic Age to the Roman Period. It includes interesting artefacts from the Bronze Age, Hellenistic Period and early Byzantine Period. The artefacts include pottery, jewels and stones, and tools, amongst other exhibits.
The Limassol Museum is also holding finds from Amathus and its surrounding areas.
