Pera - Cyprus

Description:

The village of Pera also known as Pera Oreinis/Orinis is approximately 20 kilometres southwest of the capital city Nicosia in Cyprus.
 
The village is in an area known as Tamassos which is used to describe the villages of Pera, Politiko and Episkopeio.

Pera is near the Tamassos Dam which was built in 2002 and is used by local fishermen.
  

Pera village centre retains many of the older buildings dating back centuries and of which are deemed to be of high cultural significance. These include the chapel of Saint George which has been recently restored.
