Description:
Skarinou is a small village in the heart of Cyprus. It is located in the Larnaca district next to the motorway that connects Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaca.
According to local tradition, Skarinou received its name during the Medieval times probably founded before the Frank domination era and during the Byzantine days.
The village is built on a hillside with its houses made of local stone and preserving their traditional architectural look. The main street is cobbled and has a restaurant, mini-market and the church of Panagia Odigitria. There is also the old fountain located at the community's centre. Although it no longer has water, it is still a traditional masterpiece.
Several Agro-tourism units are now operating in the area.
