Pegeia - Cyprus

Description:

Pegeia/Peyia is located on a hillside overlooking the sea in the Paphos district of Cyprus.
  

It has spectacular views of the western coastline and towards Paphos town, which is 15 kilometres away. The coastline below at Coral Bay has golden sandy beaches.
 

The mild climate makes it an ideal place for growing banana trees, citrus trees, vineyards and walnut trees. Vegetables are also cultivated including potatoes, tomatoes, water melons, onions and cucumbers. There are also olive groves, whilst sheep and goat farming is still popular.
 

Pegeia has been transformed into a tourist location with both foreign and local visitors.
 

There are hotels, villas, bars, restaurants, tavernas and various other tourist facilities now in the area.
