Description:
Ayios Tychonas in Cyprus is located in the coastal hills of Limassol overlooking the archaeological site of Amathus. The village was named after Tychonas, the second bishop of Amathunta and is believed to be buried in the area. Legend has it that Richard the Lionheart developed the village as a winery.
Although still a traditional village with winding alleyways, tavernas, shops and coffee houses, Ayios Tychonas has seen a boom in modern propery development.
Upon reaching the seafront, grand hotels, restaurants, shops and tourist facilities show the contrast of traditional village life versus a modern tourist destination.
