Water Cuts in Cyprus Should be Reduced

With the increased rainfall in Cyprus during the winter the Council of Ministers are expected to approve a proposal by the Ministry of Agriculture to reduce water cuts during this summer.
 
Nikos Zambakidis the Director of the Nicosia Water Board told CybC that water authorities have asked for an increased supply of water for the remainder of the year.
 
He said that the water supply had already been increased for the Easter Holiday period.
 
Reservoirs have collected almost three times more water than the corresponding period last year.
 
Water supplied by tankers from Greece will be stopped next week when an increased supply will be provided by the desalination plants.
 
Limassol households who at present are receiving water on alternate days are expected to receive an extra day of water supply from next week.
