According to a press release, the General Assembly of the European Shooting Confederation (ESC) has given the go ahead for Cyprus to host the 2012 European Shooting Games.
Cyprus won the bid securing 45 of the votes, with Finland gaining 30 and France gaining 11 votes.
Cyprus hosted the games in 2004 and 2008 at its Olympic Shooting Range in Nicosia owned by the Nicosia Shooting Organisation (NISHOR).
The facilities at the Cyprus Shooting Range include 4 skid fields, 4 trap fields on which 48 shooters can compete at the same time. It has 8 fields and an 18 position fixed target room for rifle and pistol shooting.
The 2012 European Shooting Games will be the last shooting event before the Olympic Games are hosted in London.
