Cheaper Medical Treatment Attracts Brits to Cyprus

According to a health tourism website, an increasing number of British people are travelling to Cyprus for medical treatment.
 

The website 'Treatment Abroad' states that "Cyprus is a popular medical tourism destination offering low cost dentistry and cosmetic surgery and enabling people to combine treatment with a holiday in Cyprus or a city break in Nicosia."
 

Britons choose Cyprus because apart from the warmer climate, historical architecture and artefacts, fantastic scenery, friendly English speaking doctors and nurses, medical treatment can sometimes be considerably cheaper.

 
Athena Theodorou from the Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) said "Cyprus is a perfect candidate for UK patients seeking medical care abroad;" adding that "Cyprus boasts an exceptional, well-equipped and technologically sophisticated medical infrastructure, as well as highly qualified specialist consultants, doctors, nurses and technical staff."

 
Many Britons also travel to Cyprus for their dental care due to cost and the lack of NHS dentists in the UK.
