Temperatures Drop in Cyprus on Sunday

Winter weather returned to Cyprus on Sunday with rain and snow causing problems on the mountain roads.
 

The roads between Troodos – Platres and Karvounas – Troodos were affected by snow and only open to vehicles with snow chains or four-wheel drive.
 

Police were advising caution and urging drivers to be vigilant and comply with traffic restrictions to avoid accidents.
 

Overnight the weather conditions were cloudy with rain and isolated thunderstorms. Mountainous areas saw light snow falls.
 

Although today’s weather will be mostly fine the temperature is set to drop slightly for Tuesday.
 

Anyone planning to visit the Troodos mountain region should check road conditions before travelling.
