From today Petrol Stations across Cyprus are on indefinite strike. The action is a result of a maximum price regulation for car fuel announced by Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister Antonis Paschalides.
 

The Petrol Station Association Chairman Stephanos Koursari said they had not been consulted about the government decision. POVEK the trade union representing the petrol retailers has sent a letter to the Minister.
 

The government decree sets a maximum price for 95 petrol at 95 cents per litre, 97 cents for 98 petrol and 87.5 cents for diesel. The decree will be in force for eight days.
 

Last night saw queuing at all petrol stations as people tried to ensure they had a full tank of fuel.
 

Today whilst most petrol stations remain closed there are a few who have not joined the strike action.
