Description:
Jet2 and Easyjet have announced extra fights to Cyprus this summer to Paphos International Airport.
From April 14th Easyjet will begin flights from Bristol to Paphos four times a week and Edinburgh to Paphos twice a week. Easyjet already operates a number of flights to both Paphos and Larnaca Airports.
Jet2 will begin flights from East Midlands and Newcastle to Paphos, from April until October.
The new routes are as a result of talks in London last week between the Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) and UK tour operators and airlines in an effort to boost tourism to Cyprus.
Jet2 estimate they will carry 82,400 passengers to Cyprus in 2010 compared to 37,000 in 2009, while Easyjet will be able to carry 225,000 passengers in 2010 compared to 155,000 in 2009.
UK Tour operators have pledged to maintain the same number of passengers as in 2009 or even a slight increase, the CTO said, adding that Cyprus remains a popular tourist destination.
