Anorthosis Famagusta lost 1-0 to Panathinaikos at the Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium to end their dreams of European football.
 
This Greek-Cypriot tie saw Panathinaikos in control and they should have scored more than the one goal which came in the 69^th minute, when Giorgos Karagounis was gifted a goal.
  

Anorthosis had a great opportunity to take the lead in the first half but now finish bottom of the group and are eliminated from European football for this season. Panathinaikos came top of the group to progress to the Champions League first knockout round.
