President Christofias had an informal dinner yesterday with Dervis Eroglu the new leader of the Turkish Cypriot Community.
 

The dinner was hosted by the UN at a restaurant in the UN controlled buffer zone.
 

This was the first meeting since Eroglu became leader of the Turkish Cypriot Community.
 
The leaders were accompanied by their wives, UN Secretary General’s Special Adviser Alexander Downer and the advisers of the community leaders.
 

President Christofias said “This is a social meeting. We shall meet each other, get to know each other. Tomorrow we have our first formal meeting. Tonight’s dinner is informal.”
 

Talks on reunifying the divided island are set to resume today after a two-month break for the Turkish Cypriot Elections.
