Europe Gives Cyprus All Clear On Irish Pork Meat

11 December 2008

Description:

European health watchdogs gave the all clear to the countries including Cyprus who imported pork from Ireland  believed to contain traces of dioxins.

Officials at the European Food Safety Authority have confirmed that even if consumers ate the contaminated pork over the last three months, it would not be enough to cause any serious health risk and consumers should not be worried.

Health authorities have also dismissed that contaminated Irish pork was on sale in Cyprus. Pork production has already been resumed in Northern Ireland and production from the Republic of Ireland will resume today.
