Description:

A car-ferry service between Cyprus and Greece is to be restored.
  

The authorities are putting together the necessary paper work for parliamentary approval to allow Cyprus to become a ferry hub.

 
The ferry service will link Limassol port with Lavrio which is about 60km SE of Athens and will use RO-RO ferries able to carry cars, lorries and coaches according to reports.
 

The service was suspended some years ago and has been missed by tourists wishing to travel by land across Europe.
 

The aim of the sea link is to improve trade ties with Greece and offer tourists from both countries an alternative option.
