An investment deal recently signed by Cyprus and Qatar constitutes the biggest investment ever made in Cyprus, according to Cypriot Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Antonis Paschalides.
 

Paschalides was addressing the opening ceremony of a Wine Festival and Business Exhibition 2010 organised in London. He pointed out that the deal will have “direct and indirect multiplying effects on the Cypriot economy”.
 

The United Kingdom has traditionally constituted the biggest market for Cypriot products and services.  Paschalides added that “The government aims to further improve our competitiveness and to increase our share in the market”.
 

With regard to tourism Paschalides said that 2010 will be another difficult year with many peculiarities, adding that the government is paying special attention to big infrastructure projects which will substantially improve Cyprus’s tourist product.
