Discussions have taken place between representatives of Ryanair and Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism Antonis Paschalides with a view to cooperation between Cyprus and Ryanair.
According to an official announcement, the meeting took place in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Deputy Director General of the CTO (Cyprus Tourism Organisation).
During the presentation by Ryanair representatives it was stated that during 2009 the airline carried 57 million travellers, whilst it maintains 44 bases in 26 European countries, and its fleet is eco-friendly.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss the possibilities of Ryanair and Cyprus entering an agreement whereby Ryanair would select two European airports for flights to and from Cyprus.
By summer 2011, another one destination would be added.
