Ryanair are scheduled to hold a press conference in Nicosia today, to announce the decision to start flights to and from Cyprus.
Ryanair will include Larnaca International Airport as one of its destinations.
The low cost airline has been in talks to include Cyprus as one of its destinations.
Hermes Airports Spokesman, Adamos Aspis confimed the decision, describing it as a “very important development.”
Aspis commented that Ryanairs presence on the island would “further enrich Cyprus’s air connectivity with Europe and would be a catalyst in efforts to increase the influx of tourism to the island”.
During 2009 Ryanair airline carried 57 million travelers, whilst it maintained 44 bases in 26 European countries, and its fleet is eco-friendly.
