Description:
Paphos International Airport will have 12 new European tourist destinations with direct flights starting on March 14th 2011.
Greek travel agency Kavaliero Viajes will be organising the flights aimed at travellers over 55, as part of its Cyprus 55+ programme.
The agency has announced that it will launch weekly flights to Greece (Athens), Poland, Austria, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and Slovenia during the period March 14 – May 31.
Paphos Mayor Savvas Vergas welcomed the decision, saying that those flights will be a tourist injection for Paphos, as it is estimated that for the period March – May 2011, 30,000 tourists will visit Cyprus, 15,000 of whom have chosen to stay in Paphos.
Local authorities in Paphos and the Greek company are hoping to extend the programme to more destinations.
