An End To Cyprus Pound Comparison Against Euro

2009 sees the end to comparing the Cyprus pound against the Euro.
 
For the past year since the adoption of the Euro currency in Cyprus, consumers have been able to see prices displayed in both Euro and Cyprus pounds as a legal requirement for comparison. However from now on, prices need only be displayed in Euros and the Ministry of Finance would encourage businesses to do away with the dual price comparison.
 
Consumers in Cyprus are now mostly familiar with the Euro currency and many are now comparing goods to those offered in other European countries that deal in the Euro although some are comparing to the British pound which is on a like for like with the Euro at the moment. 
 
The Central Bank of Cyprus will still accept Cyprus pounds until 2017 and coins until the end of this year.
