The Rain Falls Mainly on the Plain

TROODOS, CYPRUS - Many villagers were overjoyed yesterday as after a drought stricken summer and water shortages galore, heavy rainfalls hit the Troodos mountains and even villages in the lower regions. The rain has been falling heavily for the last few days and it brings some light relief to the many farmers who are desperate to water their crops.

Even areas such as Paralimni and Larnaca got a bit of light relief if only for minutes as the humidity changed.
