Description:
The Cyprus Government has announced that this year will see the construction of 30 new schools and other schools renovated in an attempt to boost the building industry.
The proposed €200 million Paphos-Polis Chrysohous highway will also go ahead after the finalisation of contracts next month.
Paphos has been hard hit recently with unemployment in the construction industry rising due to less foreign investment in property. This trend is set to continue if the sterling currency remains weak against the Euro.
There are fears also in the tourist industry as many Brits decide to holiday within the UK due to the credit crunch and depreciation of sterling.
Hoteliers are already preparing themselves and are trying to find ways to encourage tourists to come to Cyprus. They are working on attractive package deals with Tour Operators in the UK.
