The Cyprus Government have budgeted €300 million for construction projects covering the period to the end of 2010.
Contracts for 3 projects which are expected to start next month include the improvement of the Paralimni-Dherynia road. The road has become very hazardous due to pot holes and an uneven surface.
Construction of better access roads to Ayia Napa Marina and construction of a sea-wall and sea-break in Chrysochous Bay.
These projects alone total almost €17 million.
Communications Minister Nicos Nicolaides pointed out that there are dozens more infrastructure projects scheduled for 2009, involving roads, buildings and coastal areas.
The huge government cash injection hopes to help revive Cyprus's economy.
