Cyprus Tennis Team Beats Portugal in First Round of Davis Cup

During last weekend the Cyprus tennis team, consisting of Marcos Baghdatis, Philippos Tsangaridis and Photos Kallias, took on Portugal in the first round of the Davis Cup's Europe/Africa Zone Group II.
 

Needing at least three victories from five games, the Cyprus team secured the required three victories 3-2 taking them through to face Ireland in the second round in July.

 
The tournament was held at the Cyprus National Tennis Centre in Nicosia.
