Markos Fish Tavern in Zygi is a delightful quayside fish tavern, located right next to the Marina – it’s especially popular at weekends when locals from both Limassol and Larnaca visit this beautiful fishing village.

The outdoor tables are  just next to the shore, so you are a metre from the water in the covered outdoor area.

The service and food are excellent – but it’s the location that really has the wow factor.

For starters you’ll get a fresh village salad, tahini or plate of feta for a couple of euros, with a huge basket of bread and butter.

The prices here are very reasonable, offering dishes such as Tsipura and chips for just €12.

Portions are generous and there is huge selection of locally caught seafood – including Red Mullet, Sea Bream, Cod and Kalimari.

The main event is the catch of the day – and you get to pop into the preparation area and choose the fish you want.

The village is about 40km south east of Larnaca, you’ll seen the exit marked on the Larnaca – Limassol highway.
